The DGP conducted a comprehensive review of law and order management, counter-terrorism readiness, crime control measures, and security arrangements for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations in Shopian district.
He highlighted the necessity for increased vigilance, meticulous security planning, enhanced area control, and intelligence-driven operations to ensure a peaceful Republic Day celebration. Emphasizing zero tolerance towards activities endangering national security, he urged sustained operations against such elements. Additionally, he encouraged officers to adopt a people-friendly policing approach while upholding the rule of law and ensuring a secure environment for Shopian residents.
In preparation for the Republic Day festivities, Srinagar police have intensified security measures across the city to ensure a safe and peaceful event. Security has been bolstered with police presence at key locations, establishment of special checkpoints, and mobile patrols conducting thorough checks on vehicles and individuals. Night patrols and surprise inspections are ongoing to maintain a high level of alertness and prevent any disruptions to public order.
To enhance security, additional personnel have been deployed to sensitive areas, focusing on monitoring suspicious activities. Senior police officials are overseeing the security arrangements to ensure their effective implementation. The police have urged the public to cooperate during verification and checking processes and to report any suspicious behavior promptly to the nearest police station.
