J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha led a high-level security review meeting in Srinagar to evaluate the post-Iran developments. The meeting, held at Lok Bhavan, focused on assessing the security situation in the Union Territory.
Key attendees included Northern Command chief Lt. Gen. Pratik Sharma, J&K Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, and other senior officials. Discussions encompassed security preparedness, counter-terror operations, intelligence coordination, and ground realities in sensitive districts.
Emphasis was placed on enhancing coordination among the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and security agencies for a prompt response to potential threats. The meeting outlined strategies for area domination, surveillance, and proactive security measures to address emerging challenges.
Maintaining a heightened state of alertness and operational readiness to uphold peace and stability was highlighted by the Lt Governor. The directive stressed the importance of a robust and proactive security approach to ensure the safety of citizens amidst evolving regional dynamics.
Restrictions were enforced in the Valley to uphold law and order, with public gatherings, educational institutions, businesses, and public transport operations suspended. Internet speed was reduced to prevent the dissemination of provocative content on social media platforms.
