Jordan’s Ambassador to India, Yousef Abdelghani, praised the robust and enduring relationship between the two nations, emphasizing its foundation on mutual interests and shared values. Abdelghani expressed Jordan’s commitment to further enhancing ties with India in the future.
Abdelghani noted that India and Jordan have already agreed to boost bilateral trade from approximately USD three billion to nearly USD five billion. He highlighted the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, underscoring the strength and depth of their bond.
The ambassador also commended the close relationship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Jordan’s King Abdullah II, citing their recent communications following the conflict in West Asia. During Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Jordan, both nations agreed to expand trade cooperation and explore new avenues of collaboration across various sectors.
Abdelghani mentioned the significant visit of Her Majesty Queen Rania to India in February, emphasizing the importance of such exchanges in strengthening bilateral relations. He highlighted the support provided by Jordan to India in terms of food security through essential resources like fertilizers and phosphoric acid.
