Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for allegedly spreading misinformation about the Musi River rejuvenation project. Rao accused Reddy of using the project to conceal what he called the “biggest corruption conspiracy in Telangana’s history.”
Rao, popularly known as KTR, questioned the Chief Minister’s ability to clean the Musi River and claimed that Reddy’s actions were driven by anger towards critics questioning his wealth and opposing the project. He also criticized the Chief Minister’s language, comparing it to the polluted Musi River itself.
The BRS leader raised doubts about the credibility of the Chief Minister’s expenditure figures, pointing out discrepancies in the project’s Detailed Project Report timeline. Rao demanded an explanation for the premature demolition of homes and expressed concerns about alleged corruption in the project.
KTR accused the government of planning financial malpractice under the guise of Musi River beautification. He criticized the involvement of a company with a questionable background in the project and highlighted the government’s alleged mistreatment of residents living along the Musi River.
Rao blamed the Congress and TDP for neglecting the Musi River over the years and accused them of turning it into a polluted water body. He challenged the Chief Minister’s claims about water sources for the project and accused him of hypocrisy regarding the Kaleshwaram project.
The BRS working president alleged that the Musi River project’s true intention was to exploit real estate opportunities. He criticized the government for displacing residents to benefit others and accused the Chief Minister of reducing governance to real estate transactions.
Global tenders were previously invited for the Musi River project at a lower cost, with detailed designs submitted by reputed companies. Rao questioned the sudden increase in estimated costs and raised concerns about potential motives behind the escalating figures.
