India’s Karandeep Kochhar secured a Tied-4th place after round three at the International Series Japan golf tournament in Chiba. Despite a mixed third round with five bogeys offsetting three birdies, Kochhar finished with a 2-over 73, placing him two shots behind the leaders. Shugo Imahira from Japan and Hongtaek Kim from Korea lead at 10-under 203.
Kochhar started well with a birdie but faced setbacks with consecutive bogeys. Despite efforts to recover, he struggled with more bogeys. Kim maintained his lead with a one-over-par round, while Imahira joined him at the top. Yubin Jang from Korea is one shot behind, trailing Kochhar and Australian Travis Smyth by one stroke.
Kim, aiming for his second Asian Tour victory, managed to hold onto his lead despite challenges on the back nine. Imahira aims to become the first Japanese player to win the title. Jang, a promising Korean player, looks to continue his strong performance.
Smyth, who scored 68 in the opening event, remains a contender. The final day promises excitement as the top 25 players on the leaderboard are separated by only four shots.
