Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has declared a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for each family of the victims who died in the tragic bus accident in Chitradurga district. Additionally, those injured will receive Rs 50,000 each. The Chief Minister expressed his condolences and assured support to the affected families.

Sachin, the bus driver carrying 43 schoolchildren, recounted the harrowing incident where a container truck collided with their bus. He described how the truck veered across the road divider and struck their vehicle’s diesel tank. Despite his efforts to rescue passengers, the bus eventually caught fire.

The accident took place around 2 a.m. at Javanagondanahalli village near Gorlattu Cross on National Highway 48. Tragically, the collision led to the bus catching fire, resulting in casualties. The driver of the container truck was also among the deceased. Initial reports suggest that some bus passengers are missing, with five confirmed fatalities so far.
