Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah criticized the BJP, stating they are not the high command of the Congress party. During a visit to Bagalkot for a Congress candidate’s campaign, he labeled Union Minister V. Somanna as a “minister without work” in the BJP.
Siddaramaiah responded to Somanna’s claim that the Chief Minister was campaigning out of fear of defeat. He mentioned that Somanna himself lacked time for campaigning. The Chief Minister accused BJP leaders of spreading falsehoods and not living up to their promises.
Referring to expelled BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, Siddaramaiah criticized the BJP for reinstating him for campaigning, citing double standards. He also addressed the issue of seat allocation in Lok Sabha based on population, cautioning against bias towards northern states.
On the shortage of LPG cylinders, Siddaramaiah urged the central government to take responsibility, emphasizing that the state only handles distribution. He dismissed allegations of minorities receiving excessive budget allocation, stating they are also citizens entitled to funds like others.
