Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in a recent bypoll campaign speech, criticized the BJP for widening the wealth gap in society. He highlighted his government’s efforts in spending Rs 1.31 lakh crore over three years on schemes benefiting the underprivileged. Siddaramaiah emphasized the Congress party’s focus on marginalized groups like women, Dalits, and minorities.
Siddaramaiah condemned the BJP’s ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ model, stating it favored corporate interests and exacerbated income inequality. He contrasted this with the Congress party’s historical dedication to uplifting the poor and marginalized communities. The Chief Minister also took aim at PM Modi, accusing him of unfulfilled promises made during the 2014 elections.
During his address, Siddaramaiah urged the public to support Umesh Meti, citing his father’s contributions to Bagalkot’s development.
