Karnataka’s Ashmita Chandra and Dhrupad Ramakrishna secured gold medals in the women’s and men’s 5km open water swimming events at the Khelo India Beach Games 2026 in Diu. This victory propelled Karnataka to the top of the medal standings in the competition held at Ghoghla Beach.
Over 1100 participants from 30 states and Union territories competed in eight sports at the Khelo India Beach Games, including volleyball, soccer, sepaktakraw, kabaddi, pencak silat, open water swimming, mallakhamb, and tug-of-war. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Manipur emerged as the top three states, each claiming three gold medals.
The overall standings of the Khelo India Beach Games 2026 were determined by the number of bronze medals won by the teams. Karnataka clinched the top spot with three gold, two silver, and six bronze medals. Tamil Nadu secured the second position with three gold, two silver, and three bronze medals, while Manipur finished third with three gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.
Madhya Pradesh excelled in Pencak Silat, earning a total of three gold, one silver, and one bronze medal, securing the fourth position in the overall standings. Hosts Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu finished sixth, with two gold, two silver, and four bronze medals.
