The Khelo India Tribal Games 2026, hosted by Chhattisgarh, concluded with Karnataka emerging as the overall champion. The event aimed to discover talent from tribal and remote areas, witnessing enthusiastic participation and outstanding performances. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced cash prizes for medal winners in the next edition to boost sports in the state.
Karnataka dominated the medal tally with 21 Gold, 6 Silver, and 5 Bronze medals, leading the table. Chhattisgarh, the host, achieved its best-ever performance with 3 Gold, 9 Silver, and 6 Bronze medals, finishing in the top 10. Notable achievements included weightlifter Nikita winning Chhattisgarh’s first gold and the women’s football team securing gold by defeating Jharkhand.
The Games featured various disciplines like athletics, swimming, weightlifting, wrestling, archery, football, and hockey. Thousands of tribal athletes from across India participated, showcasing their talent. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai praised the athletes for their dedication and highlighted the successful positioning of Chhattisgarh on the national sports map due to the Games.
