Karnataka’s Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil praised Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi and H.D. Kumaraswamy for their work on the Bengaluru-Pune high-speed rail corridor. He emphasized the importance of moving beyond discussions to concrete actions for the project’s success. Patil highlighted the need for efficient connectivity between Bengaluru and Mumbai, stressing the potential benefits for various regions.
Patil expressed gratitude for the attention given by the Union Ministers to the high-speed rail corridor proposal. He noted that while the Union Budget announced other corridors, the Bengaluru-Hyderabad and Bengaluru-Chennai routes may not bring significant advantages to the state. The implementation of the Bengaluru-Pune-Mumbai corridor, according to Patil, could lead to economic growth in several regions.
The Minister underscored the non-political nature of the initiative and mentioned that letters have been sent to key officials regarding the project. Patil clarified that recent meetings among Lingayat MLAs were focused on community welfare issues and not intended as a show of strength. He also highlighted the historical support of the Lingayat community for the Congress party.
Patil criticized the weakening of the MGNREGA scheme by the current government and urged BJP MPs to address this issue. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding the scheme’s credibility and ensuring its effectiveness for the benefit of the people.
