Khalin Joshi and Veer Ahlawat emerged as the joint clubhouse leaders on the first day of the Tata Open 2025, a Professional Golf Tour of India event with a prize purse of INR 2 crore. The tournament is taking place at the Beldih and Golmuri golf courses in Jamshedpur. Khalin and Veer both scored seven-under 63 at Golmuri, while Md Siddikur Rahman from Bangladesh secured third place with a six-under 64.
Ten players out of the total 126 participants were unable to finish their first round due to fading light and will resume play on Friday morning. Veer Ahlawat, a two-time winner this year, showcased a strong performance with eight birdies and one bogey. He expressed confidence in his familiarity with the courses and aims to continue his success in the upcoming rounds.
Khalin Joshi, who also shot an impressive round, emphasized the importance of quickly adapting to the greens. The Tata Open 2025 marks the conclusion of the PGTI season and features a stroke-play format across four rounds. The top 50 players and ties will advance after the initial two rounds, with the tournament being unique for its dual-venue setup.
In this distinctive event, players alternate between Beldih and Golmuri golf courses for the first two rounds before switching venues. Subsequent rounds will see leading groups starting at Golmuri and transitioning to Beldih after the cut. The competition promises an exciting conclusion as players vie for top positions in the prestigious tournament.
