Three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have a familiar face in their camp as injured seam-bowling all-rounder Harshit Rana arrives in Kolkata to back the franchise before their important game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Eden Gardens. Rana, recovering from knee surgery, is there to boost the team and spend time with his KKR teammates. He was replaced by India pacer Navdeep Saini in the squad for IPL 2026 due to his injury sustained during the Men’s T20 World Cup warm-up match against South Africa.
Rana, who won the Best Men’s International Debutant at the BCCI awards, had to undergo surgery after the knee injury. His presence brings camaraderie to the KKR camp, which is looking to bounce back from consecutive losses and face a challenging match against PBKS led by Shreyas Iyer. However, the game is under threat from predicted thundershowers, which may lead to interruptions in a crucial fixture that Ajinkya Rahane’s KKR must win to secure points.
