A late equaliser by substitute Sarthak Goloui negated Brandon Fernandes’ first-half goal, resulting in a 1-1 draw between Jamshedpur FC and Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League 2025-26 top-of-the-table clash at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. Mumbai City FC remains at the top of the standings with 18 points, while Jamshedpur FC moves to second place with 15 points after a closely contested match at the Furnace. Brandon Fernandes was named the Player of the Match.
The game started energetically, with both teams displaying attacking prowess early on. Mumbai City had an early chance through Vikram Partap Singh, while Jamshedpur responded with offensive moves led by Mohammed Sanan, Raphael Messi Bouli, and Ritwik Kumar Das.
As the first half progressed, Mumbai City began to dominate in the attacking third. Despite Hmingthanmawia Ralte’s deflected effort and Lalnuntluanga Bawitlung’s shot saved by Albino Gomes, Jamshedpur’s defense held strong. The visitors posed threats from set-pieces, with Akash Mishra and Captain Lallianzuala Chhangte coming close with headers.
Jamshedpur, on the other hand, remained dangerous on the counter-attacks. Bouli and Lalhriatpuia Chawngthu had chances, but Mumbai City’s defense held firm. Bouli’s impressive play in the 31st minute was denied by the Islanders’ keeper Phurba Lachenpa, keeping the score level.
