A 45-year-old lawyer, Rajiv Singh, was fatally shot in broad daylight in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred while Singh was out for a morning walk when two men on a motorcycle approached him. One of the attackers fired at Singh using a crude pistol, resulting in his immediate death.
The assailants faced difficulties fleeing the scene as their motorcycle initially failed to start. Despite their repeated attempts to start the vehicle, they struggled before eventually managing to escape. The incident caused panic in the area, with locals witnessing the desperate escape efforts of the attackers.
Police revealed that Singh had previously expressed concerns about a potential attack on his life, having been targeted in two previous incidents. Superintendent of Police, Aparna Rajat Kaushik, confirmed the tragic event, stating that Singh succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital. Investigations are ongoing, with efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
