Legendary singer Asha Bhosle, aged 92, passed away in Mumbai on Sunday. She was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday due to various medical complications. Doctor Prateet Samdani confirmed that she succumbed to multiple organ failure.
Culture Minister of Maharashtra, Ashish Shelar, announced the unfortunate news of Asha Bhosle’s demise outside the hospital. Her last rites are scheduled to be held at Shivaji Park, Mumbai, on Monday at 4:00 pm. Asha Bhosle’s son, Anand Bhosle, invited well-wishers to pay their respects at her Mumbai residence in Lower Parel on Monday at 11 AM.
Asha Bhosle’s granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, had earlier shared that the singer was hospitalized due to extreme exhaustion and a chest infection. Shifting focus to her illustrious singing career, Asha Bhosle began as a playback singer in the 1943 Marathi drama ‘Majha Bal’ before gaining fame in Hindi songs with hits like ‘Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko’ and ‘Do Lafzon Ki Hai Dil Ki Kahani’.
