The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Chennai has predicted light rainfall in parts of southern Tamil Nadu. While areas like Kanyakumari district and regions along the Western Ghats may experience light showers, the rest of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are expected to face dry and increasingly hot weather conditions. The weather bulletin suggests that maximum temperatures will remain relatively stable today but could rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the coming days.
Similar weather patterns are anticipated to continue over the next few days, with isolated pockets likely to see a further increase in maximum temperatures. Interior districts are expected to feel the brunt of the heat intensification. Coastal areas are warned of high humidity levels, exacerbating the discomfort caused by the rising temperatures. Residents of Chennai and its suburbs can expect hot and humid weather, with temperatures ranging between 36 to 37 degrees Celsius during the day and around 27 degrees Celsius at night.
Authorities advise taking necessary precautions to combat the heat, especially during peak daytime hours. Although some relief may come from isolated rainfall in southern districts, the overall outlook points towards an ongoing spell of dry and warm conditions prevailing across much of Tamil Nadu.
