Lisa of the K-Pop group Blackpink is gearing up for her first Las Vegas residency titled ‘Viva La Lisa’, set to take place at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on November 13-14 and November 27-28. This residency marks a significant milestone, making Lisa the first K-Pop artist to headline a Las Vegas show. The announcement comes on the heels of Lisa’s solo album debut, ‘Alter Ego’, and the recent release of Blackpink’s EP, ‘Deadline’.
Lisa’s Las Vegas residency announcement follows her successful solo endeavors, including her debut solo album and participation in a Blackpink tour last year. Additionally, Lisa, known for her role in the HBO series “Black Lotus,” is the focus of an upcoming documentary that captures a year in her life, showcasing her journey alongside other Blackpink members as they delve into individual projects. The documentary, directed by Sue Kim of ‘The Last of the Sea Women’ fame, promises an intimate look into Lisa’s multifaceted career and personal growth.
Hailing from Thailand, Lisa is a versatile artist excelling as a rapper, singer, and dancer. Notably, she made history as the first non-Korean artist to debut under YG Entertainment, following a rigorous five-year training period post her 2010 YG audition in Thailand. Within Blackpink, Lisa holds key roles as the main dancer, lead rapper, and sub-vocalist, with the group’s inception dating back to August 8, 2016, with the release of their single album Square One.
In September 2021, Lisa embarked on her solo journey with the release of ‘Lalisa’, her debut single album. The album’s title track and B-side ‘Money’ garnered global acclaim, with ‘Money’ notably becoming the first K-pop soloist’s song to secure a spot in the top 10 of the Billboard Global 200 chart. Lisa’s solo debut also saw her shattering YouTube records for music video views within 24 hours, solidifying her status as a rising star in the music industry.
