Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar expressed sorrow over the passing of renowned singer Asha Bhosle through a nostalgic social media tribute. Bhandarkar, known for ‘Fashion,’ fondly remembered collaborating with Bhosle on three projects – ‘Satta,’ ‘Corporate,’ and ‘Page 3.’ Sharing his final farewell on Instagram, he praised Bhosle’s iconic voice that transcended generations and highlighted her professionalism and artistry.
In a heartfelt post, Bhandarkar shared rare moments with Asha Bhosle, featuring the ‘Huzoor-E-Ala’ track from ‘Page 3’ as the background score. Last year, on Bhosle’s birthday, he extended warm wishes, acknowledging her soulful voice and timeless music that have inspired many. Following Bhosle’s demise at 92, the film industry poured in condolences for the legendary singer.
Asha Bhosle, who debuted in playback singing in 1943, will be cremated at Shivaji Park on Monday at 4:00 pm. With a repertoire of over 12,000 songs in nearly 20 languages, she became a celebrated figure with hits like ‘Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko’ and ‘Ye Ladka Hay Allah Kaisa Hai Diwana.’
