Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh emerged victorious in their Division ‘A’ matches during the semifinals of the 16th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship 2026 at the Rajgir Sports Complex in Rajgir, Bihar. In the first semifinal, Hockey Madhya Pradesh defeated Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey with a score of 4-2. Deepak Singh, Karan Gautam, Gazee Khan, and Siddharth Ben scored for Madhya Pradesh, while Dhiraj Pal and Apurwa Chauhan netted for Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey.
In the second semifinal, Uttar Pradesh Hockey secured a 6-2 win against Hockey Punjab. Shahrukh Ali and Nitish Yadav each scored twice, with Captain Ketan Kushwaha and Rahul Yadav also contributing goals for Uttar Pradesh. For Hockey Punjab, Ali Razzaq and Rajveer Singh found the back of the net.
The final will see Hockey Madhya Pradesh facing off against Uttar Pradesh Hockey, while Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu will compete against Punjab in the 3rd/4th Place match on Sunday.
On Day 8 of the championship, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey, Hockey Punjab, Uttar Pradesh Hockey, and Hockey Madhya Pradesh secured wins in their Division ‘A’ quarter-final matches at the Rajgir Sports Complex in Rajgir, Bihar. Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey won 2-1 against Hockey Chandigarh, Hockey Punjab defeated Hockey Jharkhand 5-3, Uttar Pradesh Hockey triumphed over Hockey Association of Odisha 6-3, and Hockey Madhya Pradesh drew 0-0 with Hockey Haryana before winning 4-3 in the shootout.
