Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will launch the ‘Mahakal: The Master of Time’ conference on April 3 near Ujjain to emphasize the precision of Indian time calculation. The event, from April 3 to 5, will merge ancient Indian knowledge with modern space science, organized by various scientific bodies.

Dignitaries like Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan are expected to attend. Ujjain, historically significant for timekeeping, may be declared a global meridian during the conference.

The Ujjain Science Centre, costing over Rs 15 crore, will be opened to the public, featuring various scientific exhibits. Workshops on space technology and interactions between students and teachers will be held to promote interest in the field.

Experts from NITI Aayog, ISRO, and international institutions will participate. The conference aims to boost Ujjain’s global standing in time and space science, aligning with future science city plans.
