The Madhya Pradesh Finance Department has raised the Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees by three percent, bringing the total DA to 58 percent from the previous 55 percent. Employees will receive arrears for this increment, covering the period from July 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, in six equal installments. These payments are scheduled between May and October 2026.
The new DA rate, effective from July 1, 2025, will be disbursed starting in April 2026, with the first payment included in the May 2026 salary. This adjustment will benefit a significant number of government employees in Madhya Pradesh. The arrears resulting from the increased DA will not be given as a lump sum but will be distributed in installments to ease the financial burden on the state government.
Government employees who retired or passed away between July 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026, or their nominees, will receive the full arrears in a lump sum. Specific rules have been outlined for the disbursement of the Dearness Allowance, including rounding off fractional amounts to the nearest whole rupee. The State Finance Department is ensuring that the additional expenditure due to the DA hike aligns with the approved budgetary allocations to maintain fiscal stability.
