Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel emphasized the need to prioritize the elimination of Sickle Cell Anemia and TB in the state. He highlighted that treatment for these diseases is covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, urging public awareness during eradication programs in tribal areas. Governor Patel also underscored the importance of providing information about Ayushman Bharat facilities to sickle cell patients.
In a review meeting at Lok Bhavan, Governor Patel discussed the Sickle Cell Anaemia Eradication 2047 and TB-Free India Campaign with officials from Public Health, Family Welfare, and AYUSH departments. He urged the inclusion of more ‘Nikshay Mitras’ to support TB patients, especially in tribal regions, for enhanced nutrition and food distribution. These donors provide aid to TB patients under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, present at the meeting, instructed officials to ensure complete progress on Ayushman card distribution, sickle cell, and TB eradication programs. The AYUSH Department Secretary, Shobhit Jain, briefed the Governor and Deputy Chief Minister on district-wise medicine distribution efforts, house-to-house delivery, testing, and other initiatives. Special focus was placed on medicine distribution in Scheduled Tribe-dominated districts across Madhya Pradesh.
