Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker, Narendra Singh Tomar, has officially established crucial House Committees for the years 2026–27 and 2026–28. The objective behind this initiative is to enhance legislative supervision, uphold discipline, and ensure the effective operation of the House in the current tenure.
The Speaker has constituted five significant committees, including the Rules Committee, the Committee of Privileges, the Committee on Delegated Legislation, the Committee on Maintenance of Decorum and Dignity of Members, and the Committee on Women and Child Welfare, which will continue until 2026–28.
Each committee has appointed a chairperson, and members have been selected from both the ruling and opposition parties. Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar will lead the Rules Committee, which includes Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and several senior MLAs among its members.
Gayatriraje Pawar has been designated as the Chairperson of the Committee of Privileges, with a diverse group of members from different political backgrounds. Ramesh Mendola will head the Committee on Delegated Legislation, focusing on legislative matters.
Brijendra Pratap Singh will oversee the Committee on Maintenance of Decorum and Dignity of Members, while Lalita Yadav will chair the Women and Child Welfare Committee, emphasizing the importance of addressing issues related to women and children.
These committees play a crucial role in scrutinizing rules, privileges, and delegated legislation, ensuring the dignity of the House, and addressing matters concerning women and child welfare. The formation of these committees underscores the Assembly’s dedication to efficient parliamentary operations and inclusive representation.
