Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has urged the public to celebrate Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary as a festival of his ideas. He emphasized that Dr. Ambedkar’s thoughts and the Constitution he provided have guided the nation’s progress. The CM highlighted the importance of ensuring that Dr. Ambedkar’s work reaches all sections of society for their upliftment.
The CM mentioned that the state government strives each year to enhance the significance of Dr. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary celebrations. He emphasized that commemorating great leaders’ birth anniversaries is not just a formality but a way to pass on their ideals to future generations. Dr. Ambedkar’s Constitution is praised as one of the world’s finest, driving India towards development due to its inclusive principles.
CM Fadnavis directed comprehensive arrangements for the convenience of the lakhs of visitors expected at Chaityabhoomi on April 14. He stressed the need for shelters, drinking water facilities, and proper traffic management in Dadar and surrounding areas. The CM also emphasized the importance of spreading Dr. Ambedkar’s ideas beyond just celebrating his birth anniversary.
The Chief Minister highlighted the global scale on which Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated and emphasized the responsibility to organize the event effectively. Social Justice Minister Sanjay Shirsat mentioned initiatives to promote awareness about the Indian Constitution, including a plan to take it to every household. Special events, such as a grand drone show based on Dr. Ambedkar’s life, are planned for the Jayanti celebrations.
The meeting discussed various arrangements for the upcoming event, including a police ceremonial salute, floral tribute via helicopter, medical facilities, and exhibition pavilions. Detailed planning presentations were made by the Municipal Corporation of Mumbai, unveiling a poster of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar during the event.
