Maharashtra Minister of Protocol and Marketing, Jaikumar Rawal, assured that the state government is taking essential steps to maintain a steady supply of gas amidst the international LPG scarcity caused by West Asia tensions. Rawal affirmed the government’s commitment to supporting domestic industries, foreign investor enterprises, and citizens without disruption.

In response to requests from Consuls General of Sweden, Japan, and South Korea regarding LPG supply to industries in Pune, Minister Rawal led a high-level meeting to address the issue. He acknowledged the challenges posed by disrupted global supply chains and increased shipping costs, highlighting Prime Minister Modi’s personal oversight of the situation.

Under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ guidance, Maharashtra is implementing central directives to ensure a phased distribution of LPG, prioritizing sectors in immediate need. To combat black marketing and artificial shortages, control rooms and helplines have been established in every district, with strict actions planned against offenders.

To streamline the supply process, a Food and Civil Supply Department official outlined the government’s strategy to prioritize LPG distribution to essential sectors like hospitals, educational institutions, and social organizations. The state is finalizing plans to normalize supply within 48 hours, with a focus on expediting City Gas Distribution projects and infrastructure development.

Foreign representatives at the meeting commended Maharashtra’s transparent and proactive approach in managing the crisis, emphasizing the collaborative efforts between the Central and state governments. Minister Rawal assured that the situation is temporary and urged industries and citizens to cooperate with authorities during this challenging period.
