Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed sorrow over the passing of renowned playback singer Asha Bhosle. Asha Bhosle, aged 93, breathed her last at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. Governor Varma praised her as a versatile singer who enriched Indian music with her melodious voice and diverse contributions.
Chief Minister Fadnavis also lamented the loss, describing it as heartbreaking. He highlighted Asha Bhosle’s extensive career spanning eight decades, where she left an indelible mark with her songs in various languages and genres. Fadnavis recalled her exceptional talent in singing across different emotional tones and musical styles, emphasizing her significant impact on the music industry.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde shared his condolences, reminiscing about the timeless voice of Asha Bhosle that touched generations. Shinde expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet the legendary singer multiple times, cherishing those moments as eternally memorable. Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar also paid tribute to Asha Bhosle, acknowledging her as the ‘Empress’ of melodies and praising her unique blend of modernity and tradition in music.
