Maharashtra Nationalist Congress Party President Sunil Tatkare reiterated the party’s allegiance to the NDA, dismissing speculations about a merger with other NCP factions. Tatkare emphasized that the decision to remain with the NDA was made in consultation with the late Ajit Pawar, and the party is steadfast in upholding its ideology.
Addressing media amidst discussions on the alleged merger, Tatkare highlighted the party’s adherence to the principles laid down by Babasaheb Ambedkar. He clarified that recent events, including Sunetra Pawar’s appointment as Deputy Chief Minister, were aimed at strengthening the NCP and fulfilling Ajit Pawar’s vision for Maharashtra’s progress.
Tatkare assured that the NCP would independently decide on its Rajya Sabha candidate, praising the BJP’s respectful collaboration within the NDA. He questioned the timing of merger talks, emphasizing that the party’s decision to align with the NDA was a well-considered choice made by Ajit Pawar.
Denying any discussions on a merger, Tatkare refuted allegations and reaffirmed the party’s unwavering commitment to the NDA. He emphasized the party’s democratic right to choose its legislative leader and underscored the collective decision to join the NDA under Ajit Pawar’s leadership.
