The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), also known as Visit Maldives, has announced a strategic partnership with the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) and the National Hotels and Guesthouses Association of Maldives (NHGAM) for the “Welcome India” roadshow series. This event, scheduled to take place in India, aims to boost the Maldives’ visibility in the Indian tourism sector with the participation of 24 industry partners.
The roadshow, a key B2B initiative, will span three days and will feature prominent figures such as Mr. Ibrahim Faisal, Minister of Tourism, and Mr. Mohamed Khaleel, Advisor to the President on Tourism Development. The event will serve as a platform to engage with Indian travel professionals, showcasing the Maldives as an ideal travel destination.
India remains a vital market for the Maldives, with 63,451 Indian tourists visiting by June 2024. The roadshow is designed to enhance this trend by promoting the Maldives’ pristine beaches, luxurious resorts, and vibrant culture. MMPRC’s CEO, Mr. Ibrahim Shiuree, highlighted the roadshow as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with the Indian market.
In addition to the roadshow, Visit Maldives has been active in promoting the destination through various initiatives, including participation in major travel fairs and collaborations with influencers. The “Welcome India” series underscores the Maldives’ commitment to expanding its reach and attracting more visitors from India.
