Maldivian has expanded its distribution network by partnering with Amadeus Global Distribution System (Amadeus GDS), marking a significant step towards improving travel accessibility. Starting July 25, 2024, Maldivian joined the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) in India, enhancing its reach through Amadeus GDS. This partnership allows IATA-accredited BSP travel agents in India to issue e-tickets for Maldivian flights using the Q2-986 ticket plate.

Travel agents in India will be able to book Maldivian flights starting August 14, 2024. BSP agents will earn a 3 percent commission on the base fare of tickets. For details on GDS booking policies and BSP ticketing terms, agents can visit Maldivian’s official website.

Maldivian operates 13 non-stop flights per week to three destinations in India from Velana International Airport (MLE) in the Maldives. This includes four flights to Cochin (COK), five to Thiruvananthapuram (TRV), and two to Bengaluru (BLR) using A320 aircraft. Additionally, there are two weekly flights connecting Hanimaadhoo International Airport (HAQ) to TRV on Dash 8-300 aircraft. The inclusion of Maldivian in the Indian BSP system and Amadeus GDS allows travel agents to offer a seamless booking experience, providing access to Maldivian’s extensive network of 17 domestic airports across the Maldives.

For more information or to partner with Maldivian, agents can contact the airline via sales@iasl.aero. Details on GDS and BSP processes are available on Maldivian’s website.
