The upcoming two-phase Assembly elections in West Bengal pose a significant challenge for both the Trinamool Congress and the state’s residents, as per Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. She cautioned that if the BJP secures power in the state, everyone will be compelled to adopt a vegetarian diet. Banerjee emphasized the importance of voting wisely to prevent such a scenario during a campaign rally in Hooghly district.
Addressing concerns about the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) targeting Trinamool Congress leaders, Banerjee accused these agencies of selective actions to intimidate them before the polls. She highlighted the absence of similar actions against CPI(M) leaders, suggesting a bias against her party due to its strong support in West Bengal.
Banerjee also raised issues regarding the availability of cooking gas in the state, hinting at potential disruptions post-elections if the BJP comes to power. She expressed concerns about the BJP’s alleged intentions to disrupt the country’s stability. Additionally, Banerjee acknowledged the electoral challenges she faces in Bhabanipur constituency due to the removal of numerous voters from the list.
Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress unveiled its list of star campaigners for the upcoming phases of the West Bengal polls. The list, consistent for both phases, prominently features Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress’ National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
