The Karnataka Police apprehended a man who circulated a video alleging the presence of “zombie drugs” in Bengaluru, a claim refuted by Home Minister G. Parameshwara. The individual, identified as Hemanth Kumar from Vidyaranyapura, was arrested for recording and sharing the misleading video on social media. The footage depicted a man exhibiting erratic behavior akin to a “zombie” on a busy street in broad daylight.

Hemanth Kumar, an eyewear brand field executive, captured the video of an intoxicated man struggling on Bagalur Main Road and uploaded it on Instagram. Despite concerns raised by the viral clip, a subsequent medical examination of the man in the video revealed no presence of narcotics. The police, tracing the scooter in the video, located and arrested Hemanth Kumar for his involvement in the misleading content.

Following the video’s circulation, Kannada actor Duniya Vijay urged vigilance among parents and youth regarding the alleged “zombie drug.” However, police investigations debunked the existence of such substances in Bengaluru. Home Minister Parameshwara dismissed the rumors, attributing the unusual behavior in the video to a lorry driver who had mixed medication with alcohol, emphasizing that no criminal case was filed in the matter.
