In Mumbai’s Dharavi area, a man was found dead on a footpath along the Sion-Bandra Link Road, having been brutally beaten. Initially considered accidental, further investigations revealed it to be a case of homicide. The victim, aged between 50 and 55, was discovered severely injured and unconscious.
The Dharavi Police, upon receiving the report, shifted the victim to Sion Hospital, where he was declared dead. The post-mortem report indicated that the victim died from a forceful blow to the head, ruling out accidental death. The injuries, particularly to the head and forehead, suggested a deliberate and violent attack.
During the crime scene investigation, a blood-stained stone or concrete piece, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered. The victim had deep wounds on the head and forehead, with signs of a brutal assault. With no identification documents found, authorities are struggling to establish the victim’s identity.
To progress the case, police are exploring various leads, including personal enmity and robbery. CCTV footage is being analyzed to reconstruct the incident, as no eyewitnesses have come forward yet. The investigation continues with efforts to identify both the victim and the perpetrators.
