The Manipur Assembly’s budget session is set to restart on March 9, following its adjournment on February 5, 2026. Assembly Secretary Rohit Sapam announced the reconvening of the seventh session of the 12th Manipur Assembly at 11 a.m. in Imphal. A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) is scheduled for Friday to discuss the session’s business allocation.
Assembly Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata Singh will chair the BAC meeting. During a one-day session on February 5, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla addressed the Assembly. Plans for expanding the Council of Ministers post the Budget session are in motion, with seven Ministerial positions still vacant.
Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh recently allocated portfolios among Deputy Chief Ministers and Cabinet Ministers, retaining key departments under his charge. Notably, Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen received the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, while Losii Dikho was assigned the Public Health Engineering Department. Konthoujam Govindas Singh was allotted the Home Department, among others.
