Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh stated that those responsible for the tragic killing of two children in Bishnupur district will be identified and dealt with according to the law. The Chief Minister visited a private hospital in Imphal to check on the injured mother, whose five-year-old son and five-month-old daughter were killed in a bomb attack by suspected Kuki militants. CM Singh, on social media, expressed his condemnation of the attack and assured the public that the perpetrators will face legal consequences.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to protecting all citizens and urged unity against disruptive elements. CM Singh strongly denounced the cowardly bomb attack that resulted in the death of two children and injuries to their mother. He assured that the government would ensure justice is served promptly and condemned any attempts to disturb the peace in Manipur. The Chief Minister suspected vested interests aiming to disrupt the peace process in the state, especially following the recent violence.
Appealing for calm, CM Singh called on people of all backgrounds to reject violence and refrain from activities that could escalate tensions. He warned against actions like bandhs and vandalism that could worsen the situation for citizens. The incident, involving the death of two children and injuries to their mother in a bomb attack, has led to heightened security measures in the region. The deployment of security forces and combing operations are underway to capture those responsible for the tragic event.
