Microsoft has announced a groundbreaking $3 billion investment in India, marking its largest expansion in the country to date. Over the next two years, the tech giant will enhance its Azure cloud infrastructure and develop a robust AI ecosystem. The announcement was made by Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella during a company AI event in Bangalore. Highlighting the investment’s significance, Nadella emphasized Microsoft’s commitment to meeting the surging demands of India’s dynamic AI and startup communities. Notably, the company plans to expand its cloud and AI data center operations, adding a fourth data region, expected to launch by 2026.

As part of its ADVANTA(I)GE India initiative, Microsoft will train 10 million individuals over five years, equipping them with AI and digital skills.
