Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Rohit Pawar is pushing for a thorough criminal investigation into the plane crash that claimed the life of former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. He met with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray, alleging a possible conspiracy and insisting on filing an FIR against the aviation company involved. The crash occurred on January 28 when the Learjet 45 carrying Ajit Pawar crashed during a second landing attempt in Baramati, Maharashtra.
Rohit Pawar expressed concerns that the police are impeding the formal filing of a criminal case while both the CBI and CID are currently looking into the incident. He disclosed during a press conference that he had handed over a collection of research papers and technical documents to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Rohit Pawar emphasized the need for transparency in the investigation and urged the Chief Minister to escalate the matter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah for a comprehensive inquiry.
Stressing the importance of transparency, Rohit Pawar highlighted the doubts held by the people of Maharashtra and himself. He mentioned that the Chief Minister had requested additional documents and was set to meet with Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the issue. Rohit Pawar also anticipated a detailed report from the Central government by Saturday and announced plans for a press conference on Monday to shed more light on the facts surrounding the crash.
