The share of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India’s GDP is set to increase to 40% by 2030, up from the current 30%, as per a report by B2K Analytics. The report projects India’s GDP to reach Rs 537.96 trillion by 2030, with the MSME sector’s contribution estimated at around Rs 215.18 trillion.
By 2030, the MSME sector is expected to require a total funding of Rs 162.92 trillion, with formal credit availability projected at Rs 78.02 trillion, including funds from priority sector lending, scheduled commercial banks, and NBFCs.
The report anticipates that 30% of the funding gap will be filled through promoters’ own capital, while 5% will come from informal sources, leaving an unmet requirement of approximately Rs 55.18 trillion by 2030.
