Hockey Punjab, Uttar Pradesh Hockey, Hockey Madhya Pradesh, and Hockey Jharkhand emerged victorious on the first day of Division A at the 16th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2026. In Division B, Hockey Bengal and Hockey Arunachal also clinched wins at the Rajgir Sports Complex.
In Division A’s Pool A, Hockey Punjab defeated Hockey Maharashtra with a 2-0 scoreline. Sangat Singh (10’) and Akash Deep (53’) were the scorers for Hockey Punjab in this match.
Uttar Pradesh Hockey dominated in Pool C, securing a 17-1 victory against Manipur Hockey. Shahrukh Ali netted an impressive 11 goals, with Nitish Yadav scoring twice. Captain Kushwaha Ketan and Karan Dhanak also contributed to Uttar Pradesh Hockey’s commanding win. Meanwhile, Maibam Manimatum scored the sole goal for Manipur Hockey.
Hockey Madhya Pradesh showcased a strong performance in Pool D, defeating Kerala Hockey 10-1. Raiyan Ul Haq secured a hat-trick, while Gazee Khan, Captain Ansh Bahutra, Ayush Singh Lodhi, Karan Gautam, Deepak Singh, and Devraj Prajapat also added to the goal tally for Hockey Madhya Pradesh.
In Pool B, Hockey Jharkhand emerged victorious with a 1-0 win against Dadra & Nagar Haveli And Daman & Diu Hockey, with Ashish Tani Purti scoring the lone goal.
Moving to Division B, Hockey Bengal dominated Pool A with an 18-0 win over Hockey Gujarat. Multiple players contributed to the scoreline, with Munna Kumar Singh scoring six goals and other players securing hat-tricks and braces.
In Pool B of Division B, Hockey Arunachal secured a 5-3 win against Chhattisgarh Hockey. Rajbhar Shubham, Ashwani Patel, and Mohit Yadav were among the scorers for Hockey Arunachal, while Om Kumar Yadav and Gopal Paikra found the net for Chhattisgarh Hockey.
