As the nationwide Census 2027 kicks off on April 1, Chhattisgarh gears up for the house listing phase starting May 1. This crucial House Listing and Housing Census phase will gather detailed information on all buildings, both residential and non-residential, including their status, usage, and amenities.
In Chhattisgarh, the house listing and enumeration will run from May 1 to May 30, with a focus on digital initiatives like ‘Self-Enumeration’ for citizens. Families can opt for self-enumeration by submitting household information online from April 16 to April 30, receiving a unique Self-Enumeration ID for verification by census enumerators.
The first phase aims to document essential details such as building and house numbers, types, and statuses, along with construction nature, household counts, and amenities like water, toilets, electricity, and internet access. This marks India’s first fully digital census, with data entered directly via mobile phones and monitored through the Census Management and Monitoring System, ensuring strict confidentiality of all collected information.
