NCP Legislator Rohit Pawar met Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Harshwardhan Sapkal to request the withdrawal of the party nominee for an unopposed election of NCP candidate Sunetra Pawar in the Baramati by-election on April 23. This request is crucial as the deadline for withdrawal of nominations is Thursday at 3 p.m., with 47 contestants in the race. Pawar emphasized the importance of honoring the late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar through an unopposed election.
After the meeting, Rohit Pawar stated that he urged the Congress party to withdraw their nominee to facilitate Sunetra Pawar’s unopposed election as a tribute to Ajit Pawar. He expressed optimism about the Congress party’s decision-making process, acknowledging the significance of the upcoming bypoll. Pawar highlighted the need for an emotional perspective in honoring Ajit Pawar’s legacy through this election.
Rohit Pawar also mentioned the Congress party’s stance on urging the state government to file an FIR regarding the plane crash that claimed Ajit Pawar’s life.
