Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) general secretary T. T. V. Dhinakaran stated that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is likely to take charge in Tamil Nadu post the April 23 Assembly elections. Dhinakaran highlighted growing anti-incumbency sentiments towards the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government, indicating a favorable shift in support towards the NDA.
Dhinakaran expressed confidence in the NDA’s electoral prospects, citing a demand for change among the people of Tamil Nadu. He praised the seat-sharing agreement within the NDA, confirming that AMMK had been granted all 11 requested constituencies, emphasizing the cooperative spirit among alliance members.
AMMK unveiled a comprehensive 32-page election manifesto, advocating various welfare and governance initiatives. The manifesto includes appeals for posthumous Bharat Ratna honors for U. Muthuramalinga Thevar and J. Jayalalithaa, as well as renaming the Madurai International Airport after Thevar. The party’s manifesto also focuses on agricultural support, public service delivery guarantees, and social justice measures.
