The alleged rape and death of a NEET aspirant at a girls’ hostel in Patna has taken a new twist with the emergence of CCTV footage from Shambhu Girls’ Hostel. The footage, lasting over 10 minutes, shows a man carrying the unconscious student out of the hostel amidst chaos, raising doubts on the police’s initial timeline.
The student, from Jehanabad district, was preparing for the NEET exam at the hostel in Patna. Found unconscious in her room, she later died in a private hospital. The victim’s family had alleged sexual assault, which was initially dismissed by police due to lack of evidence.
The newly surfaced CCTV footage contradicts the police’s timeline, showing the student being taken to the hospital much later than stated. This discrepancy of nearly two hours has sparked concerns and raised questions about the investigation.
The footage also challenges the police’s claim of forced entry into the hostel room, indicating a different scenario. Questions about the locking mechanism, room access, and police response delays have further complicated the case.
Now, the CCTV clip is being viewed as a critical piece of evidence that not only questions individual actions but also the credibility of the entire investigation, intensifying calls for a thorough and transparent probe.
