Nepal’s Prime Minister Balendra Shah expressed his government’s commitment to enhancing Kathmandu’s ties with friendly nations for mutual benefits. In a meeting with ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions, Shah emphasized cooperation in areas like development, trade, investment, climate action, and people-to-people relations. He underscored Nepal’s longstanding balanced foreign policy and thanked partners for their support in the country’s development efforts.
Shah assured continuity in policies, stating that the new government does not intend to deviate from previous commitments. He highlighted the government’s focus on maintaining political stability and predictable policy direction. Despite questions about the new government’s foreign policy approach, Shah reiterated the commitment to creating an investment-friendly environment and promoting sustainable development.
The Prime Minister also emphasized Nepal’s aim to integrate more effectively into regional and global economic frameworks in alignment with national interests. Stressing the importance of peace globally, Shah called for collective efforts to prioritize peace, particularly in the face of conflicts affecting ordinary people. He further emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of Nepali citizens abroad.
