A new complex of Shri Bhagwan Yagyavalkya Ved Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya was recently inaugurated in Mudeti village, Sabarkantha district, Gujarat. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted the institution’s role in preserving Vedic knowledge and preparing students for modern roles. The inauguration ceremony, spanning three days, featured spiritual settings and blessings from Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand Saraswati.
Chief Minister Patel was honored with the ‘Sadadharma Samaj Seva Ratna’ by the Bhagwan Yajnavalkya Veda Tatvagyan Yogashram Trust. He emphasized that the Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya symbolizes more than just a new facility, serving as a sacred hub of consciousness illuminating Sanatan knowledge and Vedic traditions. Patel also stressed the significance of the National Education Policy in reconnecting youth with India’s cultural roots.
The Chief Minister underscored the importance of Sanskrit as the foundation of India’s Vedic and philosophical traditions. He noted that institutions like Somnath Sanskrit University and the Gujarat State Sanskrit Board are dedicated to preserving Sanskrit. Additionally, he mentioned that students in the region would receive education not only in Sanskrit but also in English and computer studies. The institution aims to contribute to the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’ and promote India’s cultural heritage.
Swami Sadanand Saraswati described Sanskrit as the cornerstone of India’s spiritual and intellectual legacy. He emphasized that Sanskrit is not just a language but the source of knowledge and values transmitted by sages. The integration of education and values at the new complex is envisioned to equip future generations to uphold Vedic knowledge and propagate Indian culture globally. The Mahavidyalaya, rooted in the teachings of the Shukla Yajurveda and the Upanishads, has evolved into a prominent center for Vedic learning.
