A tragic incident in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh claimed the lives of four individuals, including a newly married couple, when a truck overturned onto a stationary auto-rickshaw near Tongra village. The accident, which occurred on Tongra Road, resulted in the immediate death of four people, with others sustaining injuries due to the impact.
Among the deceased were Virendra Shakya, a 25-year-old groom from Rajgarh village, and his bride Rajeshwari Shakya from Sanjay Colony in Shivpuri. The couple had recently tied the knot in a simple temple ceremony attended by close family members and were on their way back to the groom’s village with relatives when the tragedy unfolded.
The auto-rickshaw had stopped near a petrol pump, with the driver and a passenger stepping out briefly, when the loaded truck lost control and overturned onto the vehicle, trapping those inside. Prompt response from locals, police, and district officials led to the rescue of the injured victims, who were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the truck’s loss of control may have been due to mechanical failure or driver error, with further inquiries ongoing to determine the exact cause of the devastating accident.
