Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida inaugurated three Tourism Caravans at Dhauli near Bhubaneswar to enhance the state’s tourism industry. These caravans offer a unique way for visitors to explore destinations, providing flexibility, privacy, and freedom of movement. Equipped with sleeping areas, kitchenettes, washrooms, and air conditioning, Caravan Tourism aims to provide a comfortable and sustainable travel experience.
Dy CM Parida highlighted that these caravans will allow tourists to discover Odisha’s natural beauty at their own pace, supported by well-designed amenities. The initiative is geared towards attracting young travelers, adventure enthusiasts, and nature lovers who prefer experiential and nature-based travel. Bhubaneswar-Ekamra MLA Babu Singh praised the state government’s efforts, emphasizing the enhanced comfort and safety for tourists exploring new destinations.
Director of Tourism Department Deepankar Mohapatra mentioned that caravan tourism will promote tourism in lesser-known areas, contributing to balanced regional development and reducing pressure on popular tourist spots. Launched under the Viability Gap Funding mode by the Odisha Department of Tourism and managed by Sand and Pebble Tours, the initiative targets destinations like Hirakud, Similipal, Daringbadi, and other scenic locations across the state. The inaugural trip to Talsari in Balasore, known for its tranquil beaches, marked the beginning of this new tourism experience.
