More than 78.86 lakh jobseekers and over 12.36 lakh employers have registered on the National Career Service (NCS) portal as of January 20 in the fiscal year 2025-26. The NCS Portal has mobilized over 3.43 crore vacancies during the same period, as informed by Minister of State for Labour and Employment Shobha Karandlaje to the Rajya Sabha.

The NCS initiative includes the establishment of Model Career Centres (MCCs) in partnership with states and institutions to provide employment services. Currently, the government has sanctioned 407 Model Career Centres nationwide to support this endeavor.

Moreover, the NCS Portal features a module that enables approved career counsellors to offer career guidance services. As of January 20, 2026, more than 1,180 career counsellors have joined the NCS Portal, conducting over 55 lakh online/offline career guidance sessions across the country.

The NCS Portal not only offers online employability enhancement programs but also digital skill enhancement and self-paced career skill programs. It is linked with the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), a platform designed for individuals to acquire skills, reskill, and upskill through online training for job opportunities and entrepreneurship.

The integration of the NCS Portal with SIDH allows skilled jobseekers on SIDH to access the services of the NCS Portal, while jobseekers can benefit from the skilling services provided by SIDH. To boost awareness and expand the portal’s reach, regular social media updates are shared about the available services and vacancies. Additionally, monthly e-newsletters are circulated to highlight new developments and activities of the NCS, with Model Career Centres organizing various outreach activities like workshops and orientation programs.

The NCS Portal serves as a comprehensive platform offering career-related services, including job listings from both private and government sectors, details on online and offline job fairs, job search and matching facilities, career counseling, vocational guidance, and information on skill development courses.
