Palaash Mapara secured his fifth consecutive victory, establishing himself as the front-runner in the All India Chess Masters (Season 3) at the Mumbai Chess Centre. Playing with the black pieces, Mapara showcased strategic prowess to defeat Punit Dodiya.
A group of five players, including Shriram Mhasane, Pratik Yadnik, Yashraj Rathi, AGM Rajveer Nahar, and Shreyansh Somaiya, closely trail Mapara with 4.5 points each. Yashraj Rathi and Pratik Yadnik settled for a draw on the second board.
Shreyansh Somaiya and AGM Rajveer Nahar achieved notable victories while playing with the black pieces. Somaiya triumphed over Ahaan Kataruka, and Rajveer outperformed Shrirang Agharkar. Additionally, Shriram Mhasane defeated Anay Banka in a strong performance.
Palaash Mapara continued his impressive performance by defeating Dhruv Muthe in the fourth round. Pratik Yadnik and Amey Dandekar also secured wins in their respective matches, maintaining a competitive environment in the tournament.
