Amid the upcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are scheduled to speak at three campaign rallies each in the state on Saturday. Simultaneously, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will also be addressing four campaign rallies during the day. The Prime Minister’s first rally will be at Purbasthali (Dakshin) Assembly constituency in East Burdwan district at 11:30 A.M.
At the same time, a parallel rally by the BJP will take place at Onda in Bankura district, to be addressed by Union Home Minister Shah. Following this, the Prime Minister will address another rally at Jangipur in minority-dominated Murshidabad district at 12:55 P.M., followed by a rally at a junction point between North Dinajpur and South Dinajpur districts at 3:45 P.M.
Additionally, the Union Home Minister will address two more campaign rallies, one at Chhatna in Bankura district at 12:55 P.M. and the other at Baghmundi in Purulia district at 3:35 P.M. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister will consecutively address four campaign rallies at Kehisari in West Midnapore district, Gopiballavpur and Jhargram town in Jhargram district, and Barjora in Bankura district.
Recently, the Union Home Minister unveiled the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra (Election Manifesto)’ in Kolkata, outlining key priorities for the forthcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal. The manifesto focuses on issues such as zero tolerance against infiltration, transparent state recruitment mechanisms, economic growth, and women empowerment. In response, Trinamool Congress General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee compared the BJP’s manifesto to promises made by chit funds or Ponzi schemes, suggesting they may not be fulfilled.
